Success is defined in the dictionary as, “The favorable or prosperous termination of attempts or endeavors; the accomplishment of one’s goals; the attainment of wealth, position, honors, or the like.”
If you were to ask various people to define “success” you most likely would get a wide variety of responses. What is deemed a success by one person might not be for another person. Whatever your definition of success, you undoubtedly love the idea of living your best life, of looking back at the end of your life and feeling no regret.
To live your best life, you first need to achieve success within yourself, before you can achieve it in the outside world. This applies to all human beings, and it requires a significant and permanent transformation. You begin to progress on the path to internal success by finding your life purpose. Then, you create a vision of the person you aspire to be and the achievements you want to accomplish. Finally, take advantage of every opportunity to fulfill the highest expression of yourself. Engage in the world from a place of authenticity. Set your goals, make committed decisions and take actions that will propel you up the path to success.
This can be a very challenging process for many people. How do you discover your life purpose? How do you make your vision become a reality? What’s holding you back? Here are 10 principles you can practice daily to live a more connected, fulfilled and successful life:
1. Believe you can achieve your goals
To achieve the level of success you desire, you first have to believe that it’s possible to achieve your goals.
2. Improve your attitude
The life we create for ourselves is determined by our general attitude. To achieve the results you want, you need to adopt a positive attitude and to know how to address your creeping doubts when they arise.
3. Own your life
Our actions have consequences. Take responsibility for yours. Choose who you want to be and act accordingly.
4. Make committed decisions
There’s a difference between being interested in doing something and being committed to doing something. When you make a committed decision, you are willing to do whatever it takes to achieve your goals.
5. Be authentic
Jeopardizing who we are for the sake of what others might think simply isn’t worth it. When you release the struggle of trying to “fit in” and “people please”, you can devote your time, energy, attention, love, and connection to living your best life.

6. Set boundaries
At any given time we’re all pulled in many different directions at once. Learn to stay true to your goals and values by setting your intentions daily and aligning your thoughts, feelings, and actions with your intentions. When people and circumstances challenge that alignment, learn to maintain your boundaries and to decide with whom and what you will engage.
7. Turn your wounds into wisdom
The challenges you face and the adversity you overcome can be your biggest advantages. The role of failure is to point you in a different direction. Trust your instincts and make the move that is right for you. The more you pick yourself up, correct and continue, the more resilience and maturity you will gain to keep moving forward.
8. Live in the moment
Most of us lead very busy lives. Our minds can spin at times, as our thoughts race between reflecting on past experiences, contemplating future circumstances and dealing with situations in the present. To live your life fully, learn to focus on living in the present moment.
9. Touch lives every day
Seize the opportunity to leave a lasting legacy with every life we touch. Your legacy is how you use your life to be a light for someone else, and it’s how you use your work as an expression of your own art, whatever it is, to serve others.
10. Practice gratitude
To live a more positive and fulfilling life, try to shift your perspective. Consider all the things in your life for which you are truly grateful. Express your gratitude toward others. You’ll unwittingly increase your own happiness and sense of positivity.
